THE MOONDOGS' BACK BEAT -"The Moondogs" have been performing all over the North Country of New York state and southern Canada since 1995. The show features rock 'n roll cover tunes from contemporary top 40 to the classics from the 50's and 60's, including Motown, Celtic and Canadian rock, and some country favorites. The Moondogs' eclectic repertoire of great dance music spans the generations and many genres.
In 2008, the guitar-playing and vocal stylings of Mike Flaherty and Terry Fisher, from Malone, NY, continue to entertain audiences far and near. After years of success at The Big Moose Inn in Eagle Bay from St. Patrick's Day through New
Years Eve,traveling to New York City for the past 2 years for the best of gigs, and doing engagements in southern Quebec, the Thousand Islands and across the Adirondacks, the band is busier than we could have imagined.
SUMMER, 2009 - Mike & Terry will be performing only a few times in the North Country. Mike will be down South in Albemarle, NC, performing Friday, August 14 at the historic Pontiac Pointe Restaurant. Meanwhile Terry returns to his roots, re-uniting with Jimmy T for engagements in Vermont. The Moondogs will be rockin' out again in September at Fat Jake's, The Wagon Wheel and The Pines in Malone, NY.
Using an array of high-tech gear and a Mackie-powered p.a. system, Terry plays a Gibson Les Paul and Ibanez guitars, and Mike uses a combination of hybrid models: a Paul Reed Smith McCarty Hollowbody I, a Parker Fly Classic, a Fender Strat VG, a Godin Montreal, and a Line 6 Variax 700's... with that cool electric sitar. We are definitely not wired: performing wireless and remote allows economical mobility for the show, too, with a closer engagement with audiences than most acts.
